Physical Features

• The Greenland Shark looks like the Great White
  Shark. It weighs 2,200 pounds and is 24 feet
  long.

Food

• Sled dogs eat the flesh of Greenland sharks.
  Greenland Sharks eat salmon, capelin, char,
  lumpfish, halibut, and herring. It also it eats
  seals ,sea lions, and crustaceans. People use
  Greenland Sharks for lipstick and soup. Greenland
  sharks can eat one another because they are
  immune to each others toxic flesh. Eskimo
  fishermen eat Greenland sharks.

Cold Weather Adaptations

• It is cold-blooded. It comes to shallow water
  only in cold months. It can live at depths down
  to 6,600 ft. below the surface. The Greenland
  shark is oviparous. This means that the mother
  produces eggs that develop and hatch outside her
  body. She can have litters up to 10 pups.

• Greenland sharks have 48-53 teeth. Greenland
  sharks are poisonous when fresh.
