I am from playing holes with my hamster. I am
from going to the mall and eating on the 2nd
floor with my mommy. I am from playing with my
cousin. I am from my daddy grilling steaks

I am from making Rice Krispie treats at night. I
am from roasting marshmallows by the fire place
at night. I am from going to the mall and buying
clothes with my mom and sisters. I am from my
hermit crab he is so cool and I love him so
much. I am from going trick-or-treating on
Halloween nights. I am from going to my friends
house on Sunday night. I am from going to the pet
store and getting my hamster. I am from having a
good time at my daddys house. I am from going to
my brothers house. I am from my sister who helps
me with everything in my life and I love her
sooooooo much. I am from my mom who makes the
best cake in the world. I am from catching fire
flies in my back yard with my best friend in the

nana. I am from hugging my mom it makes me feel
good. I am from camping in my back yard with my
family and roasting marshmallows. I am from going
to table rock and having a picnic with my family
on the mountain. I am from playing Bingo, Zingo,

mashed potatoes and gravy volcanoes. I am from my
friends Logan and Jennifer who help me at
school. I am from my nice purple bike that I like

of Liberty every summer in New York. I am from
cookies and ice cream. I am from making smores
and camping in my back yard. I am from riding my

Where I am From by Ms. Hoffmann I am from
building impenetrable forts in my best friends
backyard. I am from knowing I was in trouble when
my dad peered over the edges of his glasses at me
and I was only supposed to say Yes sir or No
sir. I am from the infamous Darlington, SC
Christmas parade with floats featuring every Lil
Miss beauty pageant contest winner since 1902. I
am from homemade peach ice cream in the summers
and fire toasted marshmallows in the winters. I
am from cornbread cooked in cast iron. I am from
the cotton candy that stuck to my face and that
creaky old Ferris wheel that always made me
nervous at the little fair near our beach house
in Cherry Grove. I am from the good, the bad, and
the ugly, not to mention also the crazy, the
quasi legal, and the not right also known as my
family.
