Property/Contact Information
Property and Contact information is shared
throughout the BDMS program. You can have as
many contacts as you like for a given property.
Note that we have bolded required fields.
Property information integrates with Microsoft
Expedia (for directions) and ArcView GIS.

Permit Information
Permits are easy to create since the property
information is already in the system. Note the
tabs on the right that separate the Permit module
into sub-modules. Lighted tabs indicate
information exists for a module and dimmed tabs
indicate there is no information.

Inspection Information
Default inspections can automatically be added
depending on permit type. You can also set a
default inspector for each inspection to minimize
data entry. Forms with inspection information
can be printed out and given to the inspectors to
be filled out during an inspection.

Permit Fees
Permit fees can be calculated based on square
footage or a set fee. Daily cash receipt reports
can be printed for accounting.

Images and Photos
Images can be linked to Permits, Planning and
Zoning, Occupational Licenses or Code
Enforcement. BDMS can integrate with your
favorite image editing program (e.g. Adobe
Photoshop) so you can edit your photos with the
click of a button.

Contractors
BDMS tracks detailed information about each
contractor. You only have to enter the contract
information once and you can link the contractor
to any number of permits. BDMS will not let you
print out a permit if a contractors license or
registration has expired.

Planning and Zoning
BDMS tracks planning and zoning information such
as variances. Note that this variance changed
the setbacks which are also displayed in the top
property information section with red numbers.
If an active variance exists for a property, the
planning tab displays a red LED. The Planning
module supports parallel and serial reviews. All
reviews must be approved to be valid.

Occupational Licenses
Multiple occupational licenses can be tracked for
each property. BDMS can print License
Certificates, Renewal Notices and Delinquent
Notices as well as many other Occupational
License reports. License fees can be calculated
by SIC code by a set fee or by square footage.

Code Enforcement
Citizen complaints can be tracked with BDMS.
Violations and statues that have been violated
can initiate a citations and penalty fees.
Photos of each complaint can be linked with the
database record.

Documents
Any type of file can be linked to a database
record such as Microsoft Word documents, WAV
sound files, AVI video files, Adobe PDF files,
etc. In a multi-user environment, Documents are
copied to a common area on the server so they are
available to all users.

Notifications
Automatically be notified of any outstanding
action when you log into BDMS. Notifications can
also be sent out via any MAPI compliant Email
system including Microsoft Exchange and Lotus
Notes. From the Notification window, you can go
directly to the item that is outstanding.

Reports
BDMS contains over 50 reports. Your city logo
can be imported into any report. BDMS reports
use standard windows fonts and can be printed to
any Microsoft Windows compatible printer.
Reports can be filtered or sorted before printing.

Graphs
View your data in two and three dimensional
graphs including area graphs, line graphs, bar
graphs, pie graphs and more.

Application Settings
BDMSs settings are not hard coded and can be
altered easily to fit your cities needs.

Lookup Tables
All lookup tables can be easily altered to fit
your cities needs. Any dropdown list in the
entire program can be modified by changing these
lookup tables. This minimizes data entry and
makes entered data more consistent.

Security
Security has been implemented in all areas of
BDMS. For each module, you can give a user
Read/Write, Read Only or No Access rights.
