• Hello, my name is Cherisse Morita. I am from
  Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii and I am a senior at
  Gonzaga.

• I have previously attended Central Washington
  University, but had a hard time adjusting alone.
  I went home after my first quarter, attended Maui
  Community College, and worked part-time at the
  local mall. Somehow I ended up here in Spokane.

I am trying to double major in Marketing and
Psychology, but Im not really sure exactly what
Id like to do after graduation.

• Im considering going on to graduate school for
  either an MBA or a Masters in Psychology. Either
  that or Ill just enter the real world pursuing a
  career in market research or maybe even becoming
  an elementary school counselor.

• On my free time (if I get any) I enjoy playing
  soccer, cruising with my friends, or just
  relaxing. I also enjoy being with children. For
  the past six summers, Ive been coaching at the
  Seabury Soccer Clinic, an annual soccer clinic
  held on Maui for children ages 5-15. I get to
  coach the younger kids, usually the 6, 7, or 8
  year olds. They are so cute.

• However, most of my free time is spent either
  studying or working. But its too cold to go
  outside and do anything else anyway. I cant
  wait for it to be spring.

• My boyfriend, JC, plays on the mens soccer team
  here, so I spent a lot of time watching games
  last semester. I have a younger brother, Davin,
  who goes to school here as well. He is on the
  baseball team now, so this semester my free time
  will be spent at the baseball field.

• Even though Ive been here for three years, I
  still get homesick sometimes. Im on the phone a
  lot with my family and friends from home. I miss
  seeing the sun everyday. The snow is pretty
  cool, but its too cold and lasts too long. One
  thing we dont get to experience in Hawaii that
  I saw when I came to the mainland is how pretty
  the changing seasons are.

• I have yet to go snow boarding and skiing. I
  hear its a lot of fun though. Many of my
  friends go a lot and really enjoy it. Maybe
  someday before I go home Ill give it a try.
  Well see.

• I know I want to live on Maui after I finish
  school. I miss it too much to live anywhere
  else. The things I miss most are the warm
  weather (its usually in the 80s throughout the
  year), the beaches, the local music, and the
  local food. The mainland is a little too big and
  busy for me, Im used to the laid back atmosphere
  on Maui....theres no place like home. Although
  its alright here at Gonzaga, I cant wait to go
  home.
