    half say they needed help in learning how to
    manage stress.
  • 42 say their co-workers needs such help.
  • 25 have felt like screaming or shouting because
    of job stress
  • 10 were concerned about an individual at work
    they feel could be violent.

THE 2001 ANNUAL ATTITUDES IN THE WORKPLACE VII
SURVEY FOUND
  • 35 of workers say their jobs are harming their
    physical and emotional health.
  • 42 say job pressures are interfering with their
    personal relationships.
  • 50 say they have a more demanding workload than
    the previous year.

APA 2006 Survey
  • Nearly half of Americans are concerned with the
    level of stress in their daily lives. Roughly 1
    in 7 are very concerned about stress.
  • Women say stress affects them more than men do,
    51 to 43.
  • Women and men experience stress differently.
    Women dealing with stress report feelings of
    nervousness, wanting to cry, or a lack of energy,
    while men talk about trouble sleeping or feeling
    irritable or angry. In general, women report more
    symptoms than men.
  • Above all, Americans worry about money and work(
    59 percent very or somewhat significant source of
    stress in their loves). They are leading sources
    of stress, which is consistent over years of
    surveys on the subject.
