• Each branch has equal power.
• Each branch can Check and balance another's
  power.

• Examples President can veto acts of congress
• Congress can pass laws with 2/3 vote.
• Congress can impeach president.
• President appoints supreme court judges
• Supreme court can declare presidential acts
  unconstitutional.

• The people either directly or indirectly elect
  leaders.
• The people are the source of all political power.
  
• Each citizen gets one vote.
• That to secure these rights, Governments are
  instituted among Men, deriving their just powers
  from the consent of the governed Declaration of
  Independence

• Legislative Congress
• Congress makes laws, declares war, raises taxes.
• Each congressman is responsible for is
  responsible for representing the people in their
  district.
• Congress has two houses

• Executive branch enforces laws.
• President is COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE MILITARY,
  head of state and in charge of international
  affairs.
• President can sign or veto laws from congress.
• President can NEVER dissolve congress.

• Interpret laws, settles conflicts between states,
  ensures acts of the congress and president are
  constitutional.
• Supreme court is the highest court. Below the
  Supreme court are courts of appeals.
