Our backgrounds in video production and editing

• 4/6 no prior experience.
• At least 3/6 described themselves as virtual
  idiots where video technology is concerned.
• 1/6 prior experience in video production.
• 1/6 prior experience in video editing.
• 6/6 eager to learn.

Goals

• To learn about producing video.
• To learn about editing video.
• Transfer this knowledge as a means for impacting
  student learning.
• To satisfy Etrain requirements.
• No hoop jumping! To create something that would
  be useful for students.

Our project!

• A video detailing the steps and considerations
  involved in putting together a research paper.
• Capitalized on the popularity of the TV show,
  CSI.
• Created a script where a poorly constructed and
  horribly written research paper has inflicted
  bodily harm on a popular WKU professor. A
  colleague and student set out CSI style to
  figure out who is responsible for the paper.
• The end result CSI WKU Episode Rock, paper,
  donuts.

What we learned

• There are many things to think about in producing
  video.
• Sound
• Actors
• Location
• All it takes is the ability to conceive an idea,
  turn on the computer, and willingness to try and
  learn in order to be successful.
