• 62376 Committee draft ECS.
• Three basic tasks left
• alignment to 62288,
• alignment/consistency with 61174,
• completion of some test methods.

• Means such as website to provide version and
  IHO compliance info to users. Manufacturers are
  inclinded to use their company websites (or other
  public access means) for this purpose.
• Problem multiple IHO sub-documents versions.
  Difficult and confusing for the public to
  determine up-to-date compliance.

SN.1/Circ.266 ECDIS SW updating.

• Suggested approach
• IHO needs to show date of most recent change to
  the group of ECDIS and transfer standards,
  including revisions of any subdocuments or
  maintenance documents.
• Public Info from Manuf (website) should state
  version of ECDIS SW and compliance with versions
  of IHO standards current as of date _____.
• Approval test documentation must list the title
  and version of each IHO standard included in the
  compliance test.
• SN Circ does not address a sunset period for
  compliance so national regulations could
  differ. Shipboard equipment should have a date of
  compliance not older than one year? from the
  most recent change in IHO ECDIS standard.

• January 2008 submitted to IHO Member States for
  adoption.
• Time period for voting?
• Test data set status / scheduled completion?
• Related Clauses in 61174 ed.3.
• 6.4.3 Required test items S-57 ENC test data
  sets unencrypted and encrypted. (new)
• 6.5.3 Encrypted ENC tests. Invokes S-63 data
  protection scheme.
• 6.8.15.1(h). ENC delivery encrypted SENC. (new)

SENC Delivery type approval

• Sec. 4.3 Appropriate checks/tests for the various
  types of recognized SENC formats will likely
  have to become part of the ENC Test Dataset that
  IHO needs to provide. This should involve
  cooperation between SENC providers, IHO and IEC
  TC80.
• Will IHO please describe the process by which
  HOs (or member states) will approve SENC-version
  ENC test data sets? And SENC providers?
• It seems incumbent on HOs (or Member States?) to
  approve these SENC-version ENC test data sets as
  an essential part of approval of each reseller or
  data-server.
• 61174 6.8.15.1 (i thru k) states that for each
  SENC provider supported by the ECDIS-under-test,
  documentation of the approvals of the SENC
  provider, The SENC test data set from each
  provider shall be provided for inspection/test.
