Alexander Calders life

• Alexander Calder, also known as Sandy Calder, was
  born on July 22, 1898.
• He was born in Lawnton, Pennsylvania. Both his
  father and grandfather were sculptors and his
  mother was a painter.
• His parents encouraged his creativity but knew it
  was not a finacially stable career. So, Sandy
  worked as a mechanical engineer.
• Knowing that this was not his passion, Sandy
  moved to New York and enrolled in a Art Students
  League.
