Graduate School Bulletin text using Adobe Acrobat
or Reader.

- Show Commenting Toolbar.
3How Do I Indicate How the Text Should Be Edited?
Option 1

- The graphic to the right describes how to use the
mouse and keyboard to indicate the following - Inserted text
- Deleted text
- Replaced text

Edits on the Commenting Toolbar.
5Helpful Tools for Editing Note Tool
- The Note Tool on the Commenting Toolbar allows
you to insert notes to the editor on the proof. - Click Note Tool.
- Click in text where you want the note to
appear. - Type note in yellow box that appear.
- Notes can contain a message to the editor, a
correction, or additional text to be inserted.
Click to place note
Click on Note Tool
Blank note appears. Type note.
6Helpful Tools for Editing Highlight Text Tool
- The Highlight Text Tool on the Commenting Toolbar
may be useful, particularly in combination with
the Note Tool. - Click the Highlight Text Tool icon on the
toolbar - Click and drag to select text to be highlighted.

7Helpful Tools for Editing Attach File as Comment
- When extensive editing is needed, the Attach a
File as a Comment Tool can be used. - Click Attach a File as a Comment icon on
Commenting toolbar. - A pushpin icon appears click in the text where
desired.

- Select file to be attached.
- The separate file can contain additional text or
replacement text can be attached to the document.

9Oops! I Didnt Mean to Do That! Removing an
Edit. Part 1.
- Go to
- File ? Undo
- to correct an immediate mistake.
- Or use the keystroke shortcut CTRLZ.

- You can also use the Comment tab to restore the
original text. - Click on the Comments tab on the right side of
the screen to open a list of all of the edits
you have made. - Click on the one you want to remove and press
delete.

11Stamping Your Proof Approved or Revised
- Once youve completed reviewing your proof,
please stamp it as Approved (no changes are
needed) or Revised (changes needed). - Click the Stamp Tool on the Commenting
Toolbar. - Select Dynamic on the menu.
- Select the appropriate stamp.
Click Stamp Tool and select Dynamic

menu, place it on the top of the first page.
