  • Vacuum flanges should not go through brazing to
    avoid warping that will put at risk vacuum
  • They are welded and only after all furnace
    brazing cycles are completed on the cavity
  • Stainless steel surface is required for welding
  • All ports (except RF coupler port) are designed
    in stainless steel
  • Brazing
  • Brazing features such as chamfers and grooves to
    contain alloy wire have been designed
  • Centering pins are used to position spokes inside
    cylinder and end walls on cylinder edges
  • To eliminate a difficult brazing process, each
    spoke is machined as one single piece with its
    bases
  • Tolerances
  • All parts have a general tolerance of 0.1mm
    (4mil)
  • Drift tubes and spokes have some critical
    dimensions with tolerances of 2mil ( 0.05mm)
  • Surfaces
  • All parts 125µin 3.2µm
  • Spokes and drift tubes 63µin 1.6µm
