WELCOME TO SECOND GRADE
  • I will introduce myself and discuss some
    important information about our school and our
    classroom.
  • If you have any questions during my presentation,
    please raise your hand and ask.

Welcome Parents!
  • I have the privilege of teaching your child this
    year.
  • Why are we here tonight?
  • To introduces our self to each other.
  • To explain some of the school of the class room
    polices.
  • To explain your expectations of your child.

Class Rules
  • In order to keep our classroom a safe and
    stimulating learning environment we have rules.
  • Our class rules are
  • Be respectful and responsible.
  • Be organized and follow directions.
  • Raise your hand to talk.
  • Be on time.
  • Be prepared.

All About Me
  • My background
  • I grew up in Staten Island, NY.
  • I attended Farleigh Dickinson University and
    earned an MAT.
  • My experience
  • This is my first year teaching.
  • I have had many other jobs working with children.
  • I am looking forward to
  • this school year.

Classroom Management
  • In order to keep students on task, I plan
  • on using a money reinforcement program.
  • Each time your child in behaving, thinking, or
    doing well on a task they will receive money.
  • Every Friday students will be
  • able to spend their money in the
  • class store.

Homework
  • Most night about 20 minutes of homework will
    be given. Homework will always be a review of
    what your child did in class.
  • Please arrange a quiet place and arranged
    time to assist your child with their homework.

Reading
  • I hope that everyone remembers that reading Is
    the key to success.
  • Please take a few minutes and read with your
    child.
  • The more practice your child gets with reading
    the better reader he or she will be.

This Is Going to be a Great School Year!
  • I have a lot of fun yet educational lessons
    and trips planned for this years.
  • In order for this year to be successful there
    needs to parental involvement. We have to work
    together as a team.
