Why GIS?

• Knowledge is power
• GIS allows for the quick and timely analysis of
  data to convert it from information to knowledge
• Everything has to be somewhere
• Almost all data has some sort of spatial
  component
• GIS is glue
• GIS is ideal as it is able to read both spatial
  and attribute information easily from a variety
  of sources and incorporate them together
