Provide reliable institutional statistics/data to
University offices and programs so they can
improve the quality of the educational experience.
Strategies
- Expand relationships with stakeholders to meet
their information needs. - Improve THECB and IPEDS reports by documenting
these processes in detail and working with
programmers for accurate programming. - Improve the accuracy of the data from the Student
Information System (SIS) that populates our data
warehouse.

institution, emphasizing collaborative
partnerships and entrepreneurship.
Objectives
Provide data and information to meet grant
writers needs in an easily accessible manner.
Strategies
- Form a team of grant writers and sponsored
research staff. - Identify grant writers standard needs.
- Use most efficient and effective tools to provide
data. - Continue ongoing dialogue with grant writers to
make sure the data provided continues to meet
their needs.

Improve OIRE visibility throughout the university
community.
Systematize institutional data extraction,
programming and reporting processes for routine
external reports and internal data requests.
Improve the Handbook of Operating Procedures
(HOP).
- Enhance relationships with stakeholders to meet
their information needs. - Expand the online fact book to meet the standards
set by our peers. - Include OIRE identifier on all electronic
correspondence from all staff.
- Improve THECB, LBB, IPEDS and other external
reports and surveys by documenting these
processes in detail and working with programmers
for accurate programming. - Improve the accuracy of the data from the Student
Information System (SIS) that populates our data
warehouse. - Involve stakeholders in all areas of reporting
processes through the Data Accuracy, Timeliness
and Availability (DATA) Team. - Develop standards to manage all electronic files
in OIRE. - Work with other departments to develop standards
of variable names/labels.
- Identify stakeholders for each policy in the HOP.

- Monitor the Outcome Directed Planning Process
with IPAC. - Collect annual action plans and assessment
reports from all UTPA units and post them on the
web. - Support the Institutional Planning and Assessment
Committee (IPAC). - Monitor the Stewardship Councils with IPAC.
- Support the Universitys continuous quality
improvement process. - Identify and implement best practices for
environmental scanning.
- Support the institutions enrollment projections
process. - Develop custom reports and systems.
- Support with data and information the task forces
appointed to develop recommendations to achieve
the objectives in the Presidents ODP maps. - Maintain the COMPACT, state and UT Systems
accountability systems and other reports.
- Implement continuous quality improvement.
