- Q. When the intention of staying should be
considered? - A. Only for person who arrived in the place of
residence in the 12 months before the census - How should the intention of staying be taken
in consideration? - Example At the time of the census a person is
residing in place B, where he/she moved from
place A four months before the census

period of 12 months or longer, than the place of
usual residence at census is place B
? If the intention of staying in B is for a total
period of less than 12 months and the person
plans to return to place A, then place A remains
the place of usual residence

census time) is considered as the place of usual

7Where should students be counted?
- ? For primary and secondary students the place of
usual residence should always be the family home,
even if they study away from home - ? For tertiary (university) students the place of
usual residence should be the term-time address
(place where they live during study period) - HOWEVER

country, the place of usual residence can be the
family home ALSO for tertiary students
