What is the Climate?

    country
  • Laying 2m diameter pipelines many over 500km long
    to the North
  • Building a 90 megawatt power station

  • Advantages
  • Farming areas in the North improved.
  • Families given 10 hectares, a tractor, house,
    tools and water
  • Urban areas have a good supply of clean water
    available.
  • Industry has water and power
  • Provides lots of jobs e.g. in construction.
  • Disadvantages
  • Costs a lot of money and Libya is an LEDC
  • May damage the fragile desert ecosystem
  • May lead to salinisation of fields
