Objective Develop a methodology that estimates
the relationship between changes in vehicle
performance characteristics at any level of the
vehicle and customer satisfaction.
- Mahalanobis Taguchi System
- MD is a discriminant analysis tool, which we
propose to use to predict changes in consumer
satisfaction corresponding to changes in multiple
engineering characteristics at all levels of a
hardware set (vehicle design).

Mahalanobis Distance (MD) is a distance measure
that is based on correlations between variables
and the different patterns that can be identified
and analyzed with respect to a reference
population.
