• Meet twice a term before and after Equality and

President Creative Arts Fund Have spoken to
College management regarding this, and conveyed
the problems you told me about. National
Extra-Ordinary Conference Have voted on your
behalf to make a difference and bring about
change within NUS. Wednesday Afternoons Pushing
to get these free again so people can get
involved. Representation Have represented a
number of students over a wide variety of issues
from placement trouble to changing
courses. And All the usual such as helping with
organising events such as the Winter Ball!

• Attended BUCS Regional Meeting at Loughborough
  University. I also toured their Union and Sports
  facilities with their Athletic Union President to
  gain realistic ideas appropriate for developing
  Newman Sport.
• Developed and implemented a recruitment
  initiative for all of the Sports Teams at Newman.
• Organised and ran a successful By-Elections where
  three Captaincies (Cricket, Gaelic Football and
  Squash) were open and three were elected.

material for next term for Rash Week in the
month of February including contact with
Terrance Higgins Trust and research into the
awareness of the HPCT vaccine.Went to see the
facilities at The Crossways, offering free

Chair of Student Council Report
Since the last council meeting in November I have
been ever so busy. My timetable has been filled
with lectures, presentations and essays due in at
the same time. I wish I had longer as I wanted to
have gone out and talked to students to inform
them of our council and what we do, and also to
look for future reps. This is my main aim to do
before the next council meeting. However, I
wanted to give more recognition to your council
reps so they are now available to view on the
student union website on the council section. It
took me ages to work out how to use the website
again as the admin has been changed?.
Additionally I have put the minutes from last
months meeting on to my website, and updated the
site with the new Agenda for tonights meeting so
that students can view what is on tonight. The
