• Break Dancing Breakdancing is probably connected
  to Urban Street Jazz or more likely capoeria, an
  Afro-Brazilian dance/martial art. Break dancing
  as we know it today developed in New York City in
  the late 1970s and early 1980s, although there
  is some controversy, and many argue that break
  dancing was also developing in Los Angeles at the
  same time.

• DJing - Person who conducts a program of recorded
  music on radio, on television, or at other dance
  halls. The format traditionally included two
  turntables and a DJ who spins records to his own
  special program or order.

• Grafitti - The most basic definition of the term
  "graffiti" is "inscriptions or drawings
  scribbled, scratched, or sprayed on a surface,
  originally as inscribed on ancient walls."

Hip Hop
Kool DJ Herc, the godfather of hip-hop, was a
Jamaican-born DJ who moved to the Bronx in 1967.
With his unique playlist of RB, soul, funk, and
obscure disco, Herc quickly became the catalyst
of the hip-hop way of life. The kids from the
Bronx and Harlem loved his ghetto style, which
gave birth to the concept of the B-Boy. The B-Boy
-- or beat boy, break boy, Bronx boy -- loved the
breaks of Kool Herc, and as a result soon created
break dancing. These were the people of the
hip-hop culture. While Pete DJ Jones was 1 for
the black disco crowd in NYC, Herc and the B-Boys
were the essence of the hip-hop movement, because
of they lived the lifestyle. The way they danced,
dressed, walked, and talked was unique, as
opposed to most of the disco artists and fans of
the time, who were not as in touch with the urban

  Grand Master Flash are the most credited for
  founding the Hip Hop movement.
• All are of Carribean 1st or 2nd generation

  MCs around the globe.
