  • Substantial changes have been made throughout the
    Future Stars Program.
  • The New Document is dated June 1, 2007.
  • The 2007 Future Stars Update 1 is currently
    online at usagymnastics.org.
  • Contact your State or Regional Chairperson to
    obtained this formation.

2007 National Qualifying Scores
  • 10 year old division 76.00
  • 11 year old division 76.00
  • 12 year old division 72.00
  • Boys age 10 may qualify to compete level 9 by
    achieving a score of 81.00 at the Future Stars
    National Evaluation.
  • All ages are determined on September 1, 2007.

Program Changes 8-9 year old division
  • No changes have been made to the 8-9 year old
    division for 2007-2008.
  • The committee discussed making changes to this
    part of the program for 2008-2009.
  • In general, review the 8-9 year old division for
    content and attempt to smooth the transition
    between this and the 10 year old division.

  • There have been some minor changes.
  • Reading the New Future Stars Document dated June
    1, 2007 is highly recommended.
  • The difficulty level has remained the same.
  • No major changes are expected for 2008-2009.

Program Changes 12 year old division
  • There have been major changes to this age
    division.
  • The program has been redesigned to serve both the
    Future Stars Program and the Age Group
    Competition Program.
  • Reading the New Future Stars Document dated June
    1, 2007 is highly recommended.
  • The difficulty level has remained the same with a
    few exceptions.

Program Changes 12 year old division
  • Serves as a compulsory with bonus options in the
    Future Stars Program.
  • Serves as a level 9 optional routine in the Age
    Group Competition Program with moderate
    difficulty.
  • Meets or exceeds the minimum Element Group
    requirements of level 9.
  • Can be used in level 9 competition all season
    without changes.
  • Can be used as a pre-season core development
    routine for more advanced level 9 athletes.

Flexibility Changes Ages 10,11, and 12
  • The same sequence is required at all three age
    divisions.
  • Traditional floor corner transition work has
    been introduced.
  • A Back Walkover to stand from the Bridge
    position has been added as a new element.

    in both Rings and Parallel Bar Sequences.
  • Skill content has remained the same with perhaps
    some combination changes being introduced.

Future Stars Scoring
  • The Future Stars Program will use the Age Group
    Competition Programs Compulsory Presentation
    deductions. These are currently as follows but
    are subject to change
  • Small .1
  • Medium .2
  • Large .3
  • Fall .5

Future Stars Scoring Ages 8-9,10, and 11
  • State and Regional Evaluations will have a Start
    Value of 10.00.
  • National Evaluations will have a Start Value of
    9.7, and a potential of .3 Virtuosity Bonus.
  • All omitted skills on the Strength and
    Flexibility Sequences will be deducted 2.0 and
    added parts 1.0.
  • There will be no use of bonus unless written into
    the text of the individual sequence.

Future Stars Scoring Age 12
  • The State, Regional, and the National Evaluations
    will use a 9.2 as the base Start Value and have
    .8 as potential bonus.
  • There will be three specified bonus skills on
    each event worth .2 each and .2 for potential
    virtuosity bonus.
  • The State and Regional Evaluation of the Strength
    and Flexibility Sequences will have a Start Value
    of 10.00.
  • The National Evaluation of the Strength and
    Flexibility Sequences will have a Start Value of
    9.7 and .3 for potential virtuosity bonus.

    (Front Moore) and the (Bailie) in level 9
    competition.
  • This solves touching all parts of the horse and
    will also meet 5 Element Groups.

Future Stars Trampoline Program
  • Trampoline Air-sense is essential development.
  • Trampoline will be introduced as an exhibition
    event at this years National Evaluation.
  • Participation will be voluntary for 2007.
  • Trampoline evaluations will take place during the
    athlete clinic portion of the National
    Evaluation.
  • There are 2 sequences for each age division, a
    Basic Sequence, and a Skills Sequence.
  • The Trampoline Program will have changes as the
    program develops into 2010.

Education and Direction 2008-2012
  • The Future Stars Program will continue to be an
    intricate part of both, the Junior National Team
    Program and Coaches Education.
  • It will continue to strengthen grassroots elite
    development and coaches education by expanding
    its educational curriculum.
  • An expanded version of the Future Stars Program
    will be created and utilized by the older age
    divisions of the Junior National Team as a means
    of evaluating common skill development and
    setting skill direction.

Education and Direction 2008-2012
  • Trampoline will show steady growth in both skill
    development and coaches education.
  • Regional Team Program will make use of both
    athlete development and coaches education that
    the Future Stars Program offers.
  • By 2010-2012 a surge of Future Stars
    participation and education should begin to be
    realized both regionally and nationally.
