Classroom Technology
  • Each teacher has a computer and is either
    networked to a printer and/or has a desktop
    printer in their class.
  • All grades are done on the computer using the
    program Making the Grade.
  • There are TVs and VCRs available for each
    classroom.
  • Overhead projectors are in each classroom.

InservicesStaff Development
  • Teachers have been provided with inservices by
    staff members on using Making the Grade. This
    included downloading class lists from SASi.
  • Edusoft is another staff development topic.
    Making tests and answer sheets, as well as how to
    pull results from assessments administered, were
    covered.

Future Plans
  • Technology reps are in the process of devising an
    inventory to survey what is in individual
    classrooms and what is available at the site.

Challenges
  • working with older computers that have a variety
    of operating systems
  • variance in the level of comfort of different
    teachers with technology
  • insuring all teachers have the ability to access
    email, the internet, and SASi
  • Lack of technical help support over the phone (We
    do realize nis is understaffed.)
