• ISPRS is an international NGO devoted to the
  development of international cooperation for the
  advancement of knowledge, research, development
  and education in the photogrammetry, remote
  sensing and spatial information sciences, their
  integration and applications, to contribute to
  the well being of humanity and the sustainability
  of the environment.

Activities

• The principal activities of the Society are
• 1. Promoting the use of photogrammetry and remote
  sensing to IGOs and international fora.
• 2. Stimulating the formation of national or
  regional Societies of Photogrammetry and Remote
  Sensing.
• 3. Initiating and coordinating research in
  photogrammetry and remote sensing.
• 4. Holding international Symposia and Congresses
  at regular intervals.
• 5. Ensuring worldwide circulation of the records
  of discussion and the results of research by
  publication of the International Archives of
  Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and Spatial
  Information Sciences.
• 6. Encouraging the publication and exchange of
  scientific papers and journals dealing with
  photogrammetry and remote sensing.

Objectives for 2004-2008

• Sustain and develop the scientific programme
  based on international excellence in research and
  in collaboration with other international
  scientific unions
• Expand the international role of ISPRS by
  building on our existing links and developing a
  presence in developing countries, particularly
  Africa
• Continue the role of ISPRS in education and
  technology transfer in collaboration with
  international partners (Africa)
• Develop the Foundation and attract 500 000 of
  funds by 2008.

Objectives within UK

• Work with BNSC when UK chairing CEOS
• Promote Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry in
  Africa by working with other international
  initiatives linked to UN, CEOS, ICSU etc
• Raise the profile of Remote Sensing in UK by
  joint activities with RSPSoc
