3INTRODUCTION
- Mulungushi University Comprises 2 campuses
- The great North Road campus located 26 Km north
of Kabwe on the banks of Mulungushi River - The Kabwe town campus located along Munkoyo
street in the heart of Kabwe town.
4HISTORICAL NOTES
- 1972 Presidents citizenship College (PCC)
founded - 1994 PCC transformed into the College.
- 1997 Bobby Bwalya Commission recommended
conversion of the College into a University - 2000 Minister of Education appointed a
Committee to conduct a needs assessment. - 2000 Vice President directed the College Council
to constitute a Committee to conduct a
feasibility assessment - 2001 Ministry of Education facilitated the
acquisition of the Zambia Railways Training
School, now town campus

- 2002 The President directed the Ministry of
Education to appoint a Planning and
Implementation Committee - 2005 PCC Act No.21 of 1972 repealed by
Parliament by Repeal Act No. 18 of 2005 - 2006 Minister of Education appointed a Technical
Committee to make preparations for
converting the College into a University - 2007 The President announced the establishment
of Mulungushi University with effect from
January, 2008
