Program Goals

• Increase health professional involvement and
  effectiveness in the provision of quality child
  care.
• Strengthen partnerships among child care, health,
  and other early childhood support services.
• Educate child care providers about access to
  health insurance and medical homes.

We Can Support CCHCs by

• Connecting them with AAP Chapters, pediatric
  leaders, HCCA representatives, state Medical Home
  teams, and other key health contacts.
• Identifying resources and training/networking
  opportunities for pediatricians and other
  certified health professionals interested in
  child care health and safety.
• Providing information on AAP policies, resources,
  and funding opportunities.

Conference for Pediatric Advocates in Early
Education and Child Care

• Held April of 2005 with approximately 150
  attendees, the majority were pediatricians.
• Peds and others who attended learned about many
  different topics including, providing
  anticipatory guidance, educating caregivers and
  others, child care health consultation, and
  advocacy.
• Child care health consultation was the most
  popular track.
