Why FBOs are Important for Rural Transformation

• In rural areas where producers are dispersed and
  scattered, FBOs operate as vehicles for group
  action
• FBOs provide people who share common interests
  with significant economies of scale in accessing
  and taking collective action aimed at improving
  their socio-economic conditions
• FBOs enable producers to do things they cannot do
  on their own.
