Create IDP
  • Joint effort of supervisor and employee

  • If using for college/after-hours education
  • List ultimate goal under Long-Term
  • List classes that support goal under Mid-Range
    and Short-Range goals
  • List specific knowledge, skill, or ability to be
    satisfied by each course in block 11 or 12

IDP to TNA
  • Participants must clearly identify the need for
    after-hours courses on their IDP and the annual
    Training Needs Assessment (TNA)

TNA Consolidation
  • Supervisors and employees should review the
    employees IDP's to ensure all requested
    after-hours courses are accurately captured
    during the annual TNA
  • The consolidated annual TNA is used by Training
    to formulate and justify the annual budget

Submit SF-182
  • Required for each after-hours class
  • Used to track enrollment, completion and provide
    reimbursement

SF-182 Approval
  • The SF-182 must be fully approved before the
    employee registers

Budget Set-Aside
  • Training will allocate a portion of the training
    budget for after-hours education (budget
    considerations permitting)
  • An approved SF-182 will serve as an obligation to
    reimburse providing all other requirements are
    met (grades, documentation, etc)

Reimbursement
  • Upon completion of the course, the register the
    register will to submit grade and supplemental
    expense documentation (books, materials, etc) to
    Jeanne Starnes
  • Reimbursement will be made to the educational
    institution (college, university, trade school,
    etc)
  • Employees should coordinate with their
    educational institution to obtain reimbursement
