Mission Statement

• The mission of the LCADC is to increase public
  safety by providing a program that facilitates
  access to treatment, implements intensive case
  management, decreases substance abuse, and
  returns law-abiding, productive, and responsible
  citizens to their families and the community.

• Is a community based approach that provides Adult
  Drug Court participants an opportunity to become
  meaningfully engaged in healthy activities.

How MVP works

• How it works
• MVP matches the interest of positive and healthy
  adults in the community with the interest of
  people in recovery from drug addiction. The
  community MVP member then agrees to share their
  hobby or interest with the MVP participant. MVP
  will provide financial and program support to
  ensure the Drug Court participant follows through
  with the activity.

Purpose

• Recovery is a lifelong process. People in
  recovery need support as they reshape their life
  and learn to feel pleasure doing things that are
  naturally enjoyable. Becoming meaningfully
  engaged in the community is an important part of
  the recovery process.

Volunteer Commitment

• As a MVP volunteer you choose your level of
  involvement. You can participate in a mentoring
  session once or you can be more involved if you
  choose. As a MVP volunteer you will be asked to
  attend a training designed to provide education
  about the Lancaster County Drug Court program,
  addiction issues and setting healthy boundaries
  with participants.

Sample Activities

• The interest of the volunteer and participants
  will guide the experience. You dont have to be
  an expert, just willing.
• Activities may include
• Fishing, piano lessons, gardening, golfing,
  running, yoga, guitar lessons, etc.
