Netscape has a composer found in the drop down
box under window in the menu bar.
  • Open the Composer and then minimize with the
    button on the top right.
  • To re-open it you will only have to click on it
    where is sits at the bottom of your screen.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions !
  • First Steps
  • Decide what your background should look like.
  • Eg. If you want a Scottish tartan, then you will
    need to find one on the Internet.

  • Go to - Window Navigator
  • - Search find the tartan
  • When you have found a tartan
  • - with the mouse arrow on the picture of the
    tartan, right click and then right click on copy
    image location

  • Open Composer by clicking on it at the bottom of
    your screen.
  • Under Format in the menu bar choose page
    colors and background
  • Right click and paste

  • Check colors use Custom settings to enhance
    clarity against background.
  • The page background is done !

  • Text inputting is the same as a regular word
    processor size, color, style, positioning etc.
  • Put a Title on the top of your web page
  • simply type it in.

  • A. From your Own File ( scanned etc )
  • - click on Image in upper menu bar of
  • Composer
  • - click on choose file
  • - find your file and desired picture
  • - double click on the picture
  • - in alternate text box, type a name
  • - click ok
  • - you now have a picture on your web
  • page.

  • go to Window Navigator
  • Search the Web find a picture
  • With mouse arrow on picture right click
  • Right click on copy image location
  • Return to Composer

  • type in a name in alternate text box
  • click ok
  • Image is now in web page
  • you can move it around using the cursur

  • image properties
  • Here you can resize the picture.

  • From Words in Your Web Page
  • Find a web page you wish to link to
  • Copy the URL address (highlight rt. Click)
  • Return to Composer click on LINKS from Menu bar
  • Paste into top box, retype by hand into lower box

  • Erase top box and insert words you wish to have
    as a link in your page
  • ie. Rather than http//
  • you may wish o have the words family history
    used to signify a link.
