2Objective
- To increase awareness of the TILS project and its
outputs among coastal and marine scientists in
Thailand. - To disseminate the outputs of the TILS project to
scientists and thereby promote its sustainability.
3Participants
The final science meeting was attended by 52
audience members from the following governments
DMCR, DoF, ONEP, Pollution Control, NP, KU,
Burapha University and representatives of NGOs
such as Think Earth project, IUCN, WWF, Wetland
project, NATR, Andaman Discoveries, Mangrove
Action project and Snim.

17Summary and Closing Ceremony
18Summary The final science meeting was featured
project output and the context in which they
might be used. This meeting was notable in that
it brought together not just the scientific
community but government officers and
representatives of NGOs in a forum that promoted
open discussion. This approach was seen by the
participants as a novelty and subsequent feedback
from all sides was highly favourable as it was
seen to bridge the gaps between bodies that
previously had been unable to communicate
effectively.
