Location and facts

• Close to Tukums town, 50km from Riga
• Directly connected to Riga-Ventspils main road,
  part of TEN-T Northern Axis connecting EU with
  Russia
• Total territory 550ha
• Runway 2,4km, covered with concrete plates

Status Runway

• Municipality and air transport company joint
  venture Tukums airport manages the runway and
  adjusting territories
• Aim of the joint venture private plane storing
  and repair site, training site for pilots etc.
• Runway repaired, tested and waiting for
  certification in order to start day time flights

Status Other territories

• Other former military territories rented to
  private entrepreneurs, but business activity is
  limited
• Infrastructure devastated, roads can be used and
  part of the buildings as well
• Watersupply and sewage unusable
• Most of current activity in area is related to
  cleaning up the territory, however some companies
  are using parts of it in their business.

• Small plane airfield (pottentially cargo airfield
  development in future)
• Industrial and business territories
• Territories for logistics and storage
• Phare CBC project finances preparation of
  Development plan for the territory as well as
  other related activities
• Development plan to be finished by end of
  October, 2006.
