Title: Computational Cardiac Modeling Abroad

Computational Cardiac Modeling Abroad
Prime 2006 Progress Report 4
  • Iwen Wu August 11, 2006
  • Monash University, Australia

2
Progress
  • Nimrod G
  • Refined parameters on Nimrod to do additional
    runs with more stable parameters
  • Sorted through resulting graphs for endocardial,
epicardial and midmyocardial cells to find most
    stable one so far
  • Nimrod O
  • Modified program to give a regression value for
the last ten periods of a 50 second trial and
saves it as a squared value to eliminate
    negatives
  • Sum of all the squared slope values for the four
concentrations in each cell is saved to a text
file that will give an relative overall estimate
of stability for all four graphs
  • Did a run through Nimrod O to randomly sample
combinations in the specified parameter space to
optimize the sum to as close to zero as possible

3
Final Goals
  • Make sure the returned regression value for
    stability is accurate
  • Obtain results from the Nimrod O experiment to
see if it can give a better idea of what the
    optimal parameters should be
  • Get a final set of parameters for each cell that
will stabilize Cai, CaSR, Nai, and Kai
    concentrations over 50 seconds
  • Compare with data from Cordiero and Tusscher
papers to ensure that the models are
    physiologically accurate
