- You did a wonderful job! Im so proud of you.
- You have a tremendous amount of talent
- I enjoy your company
28 Hints for building positive relationships with
teachers
- Contact the teacher early, and be positive, Is
there anything I can do to help my child be
successful in your class. - Try to be objective in discussing your child with
the teacher. If a conflict arises, listen to
what each party has to say before reaching a
conclusion.
- Dont solve your childs problems. Encourage your
child to solve conflicts/problems with the
teacher. - Be proactive and not reactive. Ask, listen and
respond with information not emotions.
296 Reasons Not to give advice to your student
- Giving advice robs your student of the
opportunity to think of possible solutions - It interferes with the students ability to
develop confidence and competence in problem
solving - It prevents the student from taking
responsibility - It conveys a lack of trust in the students
ability to problem solve - Your advice could be wrong and could create
additional problems for your student - Giving advice allows your student to blame you if
your advice doesnt work out.
