• How will my egg change based on the liquid it is
  in?

Samanthas Hypothesis

• We thought that the egg would capture some of the
  vinegar and get bigger.
• We thought that the egg would release the vinegar
  and absorb the water.
• We thought the salt in the saltwater would make
  the egg shrivel up
• We thought that when we put it in food coloring
  the egg would absorb the color
• We thought that in the oil it was going to
  shrivel up

Julias Procedures

1. Find the mass of the egg using a scale
2. Find the circumference of the egg using a string
   and then a ruler
3. Write down observations of an egg in data table
4. Using a graduated cylinder, measure 200 ml of
   vinegar and add to container.
5. Carefully add egg to container and leave for 24
   hours
6. Repeat steps 1-5 but with salt water, then food
   coloring, then a liquid of choice

• Today we put the egg in 200 ml of vinegar.It was
  white,smooth, and had a hard shell

• Today the egg was soft,squishy, and a tannish
  color because the shell was gone

• Today it was less foamy and white flakes kept

Conclusion

• Our hypothesis was halfway correct.We thought I
  would turn red in the food coloring,and it did.We
  also thought that it wasnt going to soak up the
  vinegar, but it did. We were also right about it
  soaking up water. We were wrong about the
  saltwater,we thought it would release the water
  that was in it, but it didnt. we were right
  about the liquid of choice it did shrivel up.
• Next time we would like to use a different
  liquid to see what would be different about the
  results.
