Title: Was There a Real Camelot
1Was There a Real Camelot?
2Thesis
- Throughout time there have been many arguments
about the location of Camelot, or even if it
existed. This is a presentation of three
possible locations, Cadbury Castle, Camelon near
Falkirk, and Colchester.

4Cadbury Castle
- Many people think that Cadbury Castle is the
location of the legendary Camelot. - There is evidence that Cadbury Castle was heavily
fortified in 500 A.D. and was ruled by a leader
of great wealth and power. - Archaeologists have recently uncovered artifacts
dated back to the 6th century. They think that
these artifacts mean that Cadbury held great
international importance. - Archaeologists estimate that the castle was big
enough to house 1000 troops and their families
and supporting units.

6Camelon
- Some people think that Camelot could be near a
Scottish town called Camelon. This village is
near Falkirk. - Historian Frank Carroll came to this conclusion
after reading 7th century text that talked about
Arturius who died at the battle of Camlann in 582.

8Colchester
- A larger round table has been found at
Colchester. There was also a large castle found
there. - The Roman name for Colchester is Camelod-Unum
which is the name for Camelot.

10In Conclusion
- In conclusion, there are many different arguments
for where the location of Camelot is. Each
location has its own story for the location, but
most people agree that there is a real Camelot. - Archaeological research most strongly supports
Cadbury Castle as Arthurs legendary home.
