The first Semester

• Our expectations of you
• You will treat the course as full-time
• You will attend all classes and inform us of
  absences
• If you are having problems with a module let the
  Lecturer know ASAP.
• You will take supplementary notes in class and
  read around the subject
• You will not plagiarise the work of others

Plagiarism

• Plagiarism is the act of taking or copying
  someone else's work, including another student's,
  and presenting it as if it were your own. 
• It Includes
• Copying out a whole piece of work taking
  elements of work from a source or sources and
  incorporating them without acknowledgement
  (referencing) into the submitted piece in such a
  way as to suggest that they are the students own
  unaided efforts.

• To be allocated a Studies Advisor to help you get
  the most from the course.
• To have access to your Lecturers during
  consultation hours and feedback about your work
• To receive a comprehensive teaching plan for each
  module detailing topics, assessment, and reading
  lists.
• Consultation on major issues affecting your
  studies

Housekeeping

• If you are unable to submit your coursework on
  time or miss an exam for a bona fide reason
  submit a EC1 form.
• Always submit your coursework through the school
  office.
• Nominate Course Reps for the Staff/Student
  Consultative Committee.
• Read, refer to, and keep safe your course
  handbook.
• Sort out problems early
