Representative Democracy

• Government by the people
• We have the power to choose our elected officials
  by voting.
• Involves a list of rules. The U.S. uses what
  we call the Constitution.
• The choice with the majority vote is what passes.
  This is similar to how things are decided on in
  a Democracy.

• Can serve an unlimited number of terms
• Operate in the United States Capitol Building

• Justices serve for life unless they retire,
  resign, are impeached by the House of
  Representatives, or convicted by the Senate
• Deals with court cases that challenge the
  Constitution
• Swears president into office

  the laws are obeyed
