Primary Foci of Academic Support Services

• Develop and maintain strong collaboration among
  support service teachers, classroom teachers and
  parents
• Teach strategies that will empower students to be
  independent learners
• Provide early intervention for struggling
  students, including Reading Recovery

Roles and Responsibilities of SSP Personnel

• Arranging team meetings and coordinating services
• Providing instruction
• Designing needs assessment and monitoring growth
• Collaborating with classroom teachers
• Training of graduate students and student workers
• Referring appropriate support services when needed
