Expectations
  • Students will come to class each day with paper,
    pencil, three ring binders, and agenda.
  • Teacher will begin class on time and have all
    necessary materials ready
  • Students will come prepared to learn
  • Teacher will come prepared to teach

Class Rules
  • Be respectful at all times.
  • Come to class prepared. Bring all materials
    needed for class, and turn in all assignments on
    the assigned due date.
  • Follow directions the first time they are given.
  • Obey all other school rules.
  • Be on time! Use the restroom, and take care of
    any other business before class starts.
  • RULES WILL BE ADDED IF NECESSARY!

Homework
  • 1.Students will be required to write down any
    assigned homework and the days instructional
    focus each day.
  • 2. If a student or class has difficulty returning
    homework on time, I may require a parents
    signature beside the homework assignment. This
    is to help insure that parents are aware of the
    homework assignments given. I may also assign
    lunch detention for assignments that arent
    completed!
  • 3. No credit will be given for late homework
    unless the student is absent. One day will be
    given for each absence to make up missed work.
  • 4. Homework generally is graded on a 100 - 0
    basis.

Typical Assignments / Assessments
  • Reading workbook and/or novel
  • Essays, books reviews, research paper
  • Grammar Workbook
  • Projects (25 of quarter grade)
  • Teacher made tests and quizzes
  • Weekly vocabulary lists and quizzes

Progress Reports
  • Will go out every three weeks
  • Will include tardy and absence totals
  • Will have teacher contact information on them
  • Must be signed and returned by the next school
    day for homework credit
  • Detentions may be assigned for failure to turn
    them back in with parent signature

Credit Requirements
  • Student must pass with 70 or higher
  • Student must meet attendance requirement (no more
    than 6 absences per semester)
  • Student must be proficient on the English I EOC
    (level three or four)
  • After school remediation may be expected
    according to student performance and/or P.E.P.
