• I attended both Dyer School and Gibson County
  High School.
• I earned my teaching degree from Middle Tennessee
  State University.
• I am married to Chuck Thornton.
• My children are Sarah Catherine (8th grade)
  and Siler(6th grade).

Planners

• We use planners daily.
• Students MUST write all assignments into planner.
• Parent signs planner to verify that student has
  completed ALL assignments.
• I check planners each morning.

Starring Good Behavior

• Students pull stars for breaking class rules and
  not completing assignments.
• Yellow Star Great Day!!
• Green Star Oops!! Lose five minutes of playtime
• Blue Star Oh no!! Lose half of playtime
• Red Star Bad Day!! Lose all playtime and note
  home

Super Student Day

• Monthly celebration for good conduct.
• Strikes earned each time student is on RED star
  and for each missing homework assignment.
• Those who attend will relax and watch a movie.
• Those who do not attend will work.

Class Rules

• Listen when others are talking.
• Follow directions.
• Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
• Work quietly and do not disturb others.
• Show respect for school and personal property.
• Work and play in a safe manner.

School Time

• Send me a note to document any absence.
• Late students must sign in at the office.
• BE ON TIME!!
• Students are expected to be ready for class and
  in their seats by 800 a.m.

Morning Procedures (745-800)

• Turn in ALL homework.
• Hang up backpack coat.
• Get morning books.
• Trim at least 2 pencils.
• Prepare for journal.
• Sit quietly.
• Put on your thinking cap.

Afternoon Procedures(225-230)

• Make sure ALL assignments are copied into
  planner.
• Have helper check planner.
• Pack backpack with everything you will need to
  complete all assignments.
• Return all books to cubby.
• Make sure everything at your desk and on the
  floor is put away.

Signed Papers

• Papers go home weekly.
• Check over work.
• Sign card.
• Return card-- keep papers.

Food

• Please pay lunch weekly on Monday.
• No morning snack.
• Ice Cream on Fridays (0.50) for students who did
  not pull a star ALL week.

Parties

• Your child may celebrate their birthday at
  school.
• Our parties are at playtime.
• Please check with me about days and times.

Homework

• Assignments will be made in class, I will give
  students time to work. If they do not finish, it
  is homework.
• Please make sure your child completes ALL
  assignments.
• Please review homework policy.

Tests

• Tests will announced 2-3 days in advance.
• Math tests will be on Wednesday.
• All other tests will be as we finish chapters and
  units.
