Partnerships with Xuhui

• 32 Norfolk schools now involved
• Over 50 senior officers, headteachers and
  teachers have visited Xuhui
• Memoranda of Understandings have been signed with
  sister schools
• Notre Dame/Weiyu student exchange

How do we move things on?

• Find ways of sustaining the contact between
  teachers
• Find ways for enabling children and young people
  to benefit from our friendship

Joint Curriculum Projects

• Enable schools (teachers and students) in Xuhui
  and Norfolk to work together on a joint project
  of common interest

Funds from the UK government supports

• Teachers from Norfolk to visit sister school and
  plan a project
• Purchase of necessary special materials
• The costs of a visit to Xuhui school by a small
  group of Norfolk children to share the outcomes
  of the project

The project must

• Be based on the curriculum
• Add value to the learning of both Norfolk and
  Xuhui children
• Have a clear focus and outcome

Ideas for Projects

• A Powerpoint presentation about an event/festival
  at school
• A photo album showing a day in the life of
  someone in the class
• An art project on an agreed theme, pictures to be
  exchanged and exhibited in sister schools

• Poetry competition
• Produce a DVD to teach a traditional sport/game
  to the sister school
• Competition in each school to see which school
  can recycle the most paper, save most water
• Share information about local heros

• Sharing traditional music, songs, playground
  games
• Produce a healthy eating recipe book calendar
  with a dish a month (alternate English/Chinese)
• Drama/dance projects

The pupil visit to Xuhui

• 50 of the time must be based in the sister
  school
• Pupils should have an opportunity to work
  alongside their Xuhui friends to finish or share
  the joint project
