Introduction

• For our Duke of Edinburgh expedition we walked to
  shining tor through Rainow.
• The objectives for the walk were map reading,
  compass skills and working as a team

Purpose of the walk

• My purpose of the walk is how the tourists have
  made a mark on the landscape and how it has been
  changed for the need of the tourists e.g. how
  farms have opened café for walkers to eat and
  drink

Day 1

• On day one we set off from 236 sqn at 900 am and
  ended up at Torgate farm at 1900 pm.
• The walk was 13.6 km
• We stopped and had lunch at 1300 pm at Common
  barn.
• On the way down shining tor we saw a motorbike
  accident on the main road and then I fell down a
  hole and in a rush to help Kyle fell down a hole
  aswell.

At Torgate farm

• At Torgate farm we got our tents set up before it
  got dark and put our dinner on.
• After dinner we had a game of ultimate glowstick
  wich we had to play because it was to dark to
  throw a frisbee round.
• I got around 2 hours sleep thanks to kyle kicking
  me in the head in the middle of the night.

Day 2

• On day 2 I did the same walk but with a different
  team we did the walk quicker than I did on day
  1.we set off at 1000 am and ended up at sqn at
  1700 pm.
• Despite getting chased by crazy cows it was an
  amazing walk on the descent of shining tor.
