Bibliography and Outine Formats and Tips
  • Give your paper a TITLE, at least tentative.
  • Outline should articulate the FORM of your paper.
In most cases, the format will include some or
    all of the following Theoretical
justification (What is the scholarly rationale
for your study) Citing the appropriate
theorists from the assigned readings Historical
and/cultural background (What is the context for
your study ?) Definition of terms/Criteria for
comparison (How can we determine the validity
and reliability of your study?) The object of
study (What are you looking at specifically?) Di
scussion/Conclusion (What did we learn and where
    do we go from here?)
  • You may use a traditional outline format, bullet
    points, or short paragraphs.
  • Bibliography is tentative, a work in progress.
Needs to be in proper bibliographic form, which
for Communication would be APA or MLA. List
works by category (books, scholarly work, popular
    press, trade/business press, websites, etc.),
Include a sentence identifying the reason for
    using this particular source.
  • NO WIKIPEDIA as sole source.
