3
December RMC Emissions Progress (1)
  • Completing modeling and QA of simulation 36km
    Pre02d
  • Developed QA protocol products for 36km Pre02d
    simulation
  • WRAP RMC 2004 Interim Report
  • Began preparation for 12km Pre02d simulation

4
December RMC Emissions Progress (2)
  • Additional, 36-km domain-wide emissions summaries
provided to ARS, extended WRAP-only summaries
    provided last month
  • Continued coordination with ERG and the WRAP to
develop a protocol for obtaining 1999 Mexico
    emissions inventories

5
MM5 Update
  • Completed 2002 36/12 km MM5 simulations in
    December 2004
  • Completed Jan.-June, Nov.-Dec. MCIP processing
    for 2002 36/12 km simulations. The July-Sep.
MCIP runs will be completed by 01/21/05
  • ENVIRON received first batch of 36/12 km MM5
results from UCR 01/13/05, two more months to be
    transferred.
  • Final 2002 36/12 km MM5 evaluation to do
  • 2002 36 km MM5 compare WRAP, VISTAS CENRAP Runs
    for subdomains across USA
  • Compare 2002 36 km and 12 km WRAP MM5 runs
  • Put together backup and distribution disks (1.7
Tb of data on 6 300 Gb IDE drives)
  • Current Distribution NPS 1st OAQPS 2nd
  • Updated Reports _at_ http//pah.cert.ucr.edu/aqm/308/
    mm5.shtml

6
Wind Blown Fugitive Dust Update
  • CMAQ sensitivity simulations completed
  • CMAQ run w/ w/o WB Dust Emissions
  • Initial MPE completed
  • Results currently being reviewed/evaluated
  • Draft Report completion by 01/19/05
  • Eastern agricultural adjustments updated
  • Next Steps Revised Model Run (Feb 05)
  • New 2002 MM5 36/12 km
  • Land-Use Specific fugitive dust transport factor

7
Fire Sensivity
  • Post-analysis of fire sensitivity runs and for
    presentation at 12/8 FEJF meeting
  • http//pah.cert.ucr.edu/aqm/308/meetings.shtml
  • Largest effects were from wild fires
  • Natural fire emissions effects much larger than
    anthropogenic fires.

8
Alternative Model
  • CAMx 36 km Feb/Jul 2002
  • New 2002 MM5 fields and latest pre02D remissions
  • Compare model performance with CMAQ
  • CAMx PSAT PM Source Apportionment
  • Use same sources as AoH CMAQ TSSA and compare
    results
  • Received pre-merged pre02D emissions 01/13/05
  • Begin to load data on to ENVIRON RAID system
  • Completion in February 2005

9
Alaska Modeling
  • Alaska 2002 Annual 45/15 km MM5 simulation to be
    completed in January 2005
  • July to December are completed
  • Next Steps
  • Evaluation of Alaska 2002 MM5 simulation
  • Processing of Alaska emissions data for CALPUFF
  • Point sources and major urban areas
  • Begin CALMET/CALPUFF modeling
