4Summary
- The coarse model is capable of letting more
water across the ridge. - The regional model is correlating its transports
well to the global model and introduces no lead
or lack, eventhough the coupling between them is
prescribed relatively weakly. - The global model produces a close link between
the transports in the eastern and western gaps.
This effect is much less pronounced in the
regional model. - The eddy dynamics believed to be the major
overflow process across the shallower parts of
the GSR is captured in the regional model. - The Denmark Strait seems to be sufficiently
resolved even in the global model for hydraulic
control to be important. - The mixing can be quite different in the two
models.
