  • This should be discussed at the first meeting, as
    part of agreeing the basis of the relationship.
  • The normal expectation is that everything
    discussed is confidential. Where there is a
    serious problem that needs a wider consultation,
    the necessary consultation should be agreed in
    advance.
  • Mentees must have confidence that mentors will
    not divulge any aspect of the mentorship
    discussions to line managers or others.

  • Mentor should introduce him/herself fully,
    including skills, experience,career track etc

Like any relationship, mentorship requires trust
