THE NEED FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• CFT as an organisation needs to train and run its
  projects according to PM principles for the
  following reasons
• PM will bring about efficiency.
• There will be standardization in the way we do
  projects.
• Competitors are already using these techniques
  and are deriving benefits from them.

• The methodology will not only be useful in doing
  CFT work, but it will give people a skill they
  can use in their own work as well.
• As projects in which we get involved in get more
  complex, a structured approach becomes more
  necessary.
• In the process of CFT Project Management there
  will be an added advantage of passing lessons
  learned to other members of the organisation.

• Project management will improve flexibility and
  integration.

WHAT ABOUT THE METHOD WE ARE USING NOW?

• What we are doing now is not necessarily wrong.
  However, our project planning and implementation
  can be enhanced by some form of project
  management method.

PROPOSAL

• CFT appoints a dedicated team to develop a CFT
  Project Management course.
• CFT trains people who can present the PM course
  (Perhaps from Head Office).
• CFT starts training roll-out of these courses for
  various groups (e.g. Provinces).
• CFT strives to be ahead of its competitors.
