What are shared infrastructure services?
  • a range of network services that are called on
    by content providers, brokers, aggregators,
    indexes, catalogues and portals. Infrastructure
    services include authentication, authorisation,
    service registry, user preferences, resolver,
    institutional profile, metadata schema registry
    and terminology services.
  • Name changed to Shared Infrastructure Services in
    order to emphasise its about services that
    operate as underlying machine-to-machine (M2M)
    shared services
