2Rationale Successful development of science and
technology in todays highly competitive
environment requires the ability to overcome
significance challenges. Innovation is one of key
factors. Many studies in recent years have
documented the rapid growth of microbial
exploitation and proliferation of technology
transfer program between government sponsors,
research institutions, and private industry, as
well as the use of joint ventures, license
agreements, acquisition, mergers, and other
co-operative agreements. However, most graduates
in Biological sciences still lack of learning
experiences in commercialization processes. This
introduction of this new curriculum will provide
good understanding of microbial commercialization
and entrepreneurship as well as new idea
creation. Objective The workshop aim is to
provide the participants with a framework from
which to build a course which delivers a learning
experience in the area of commercialization of
the biosciences. The approach is based on
experimential learning, which will be the format
adopted in the workshop. International
