Kansas State Assessments

• Reading and Math Assessments are given to all
  students in grades 3 through 8 and high school
  (under OTL rules)
• Five proficiency levels are assigned to student
  scores
• 1) Academic Warning
• 2) Approaches Standard
• 3) Meets Standard
• 4) Exceeds Standard
• 5) Exemplary

• Each proficiency level is based on a range of
  scores.
• Score ranges that define each proficiency level
  vary by grade, subject, and type of assessment.
• A student is considered proficient or meets the
  grade level standard when his/her score falls
  into the range that classifies performance as
  meets standard or higher.
• The results presented here show the percentage of
  students whose score classified them as having
  met the standard, exceeded the standard or
  exemplary.
