Climax

• What do we already know about the climax of a
  story?
• Something to add to what we already know about
  Climax is that there can be two types of climaxes
  in a story Emotional and Technical.

Emotional Climax

• An emotional climax occurs
• At the point the story is most intense
  emotionally
• When the reader is at a moment when he/she
  doesnt want to stop reading
• Most often right before the resolution

Technical Climax

• The Technical Climax can best be described as
  the moment in the plot that begins the falling
  action, which leads to the resolution. It may or
  may not be an emotionally intense moment, but it
  does cause a change in the plot movement.
• A technical climax can be
• A decision or choice made by a character
• A situation taking a turn for the worst or better
• An event that is the ultimate cause of the
  storys resolution

Emotional vs. Technical Some Things to Consider

• An Emotional Climax deals mainly with emotion,
  while a Technical Climax deals primarily with
  Cause Effect.
• The Emotional and Technical Climaxes can occur at
  different moments in a story OR they can be one
  in the same.
